Exactly a week ago, we shared images of the first Mercedes-AMG GT-R to land in India ahead of its debut in the country. The model, painted in a shade of Green Hell Magno, will reportedly head to Bengaluru. Now, Mercedes-Benz India has officially announced that the AMG GT-R and AMG GT Roadster will be launched on August 21, 2017.
Unveiled at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the AMG GT-R is propelled by a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged, V8 engine. This engine is capable of producing 577 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a seven speed dual clutch automatic transmission. This drivetrain enables the model to cover the 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.6 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 318 kmph.

The AMG GT Roadster too, is powered by the same 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 motor, although in a different state of tune. This drop-top sports car from Affalterbach produces 469 hp and 650 Nm of torque. This engine comes paired to the same seven speed DCT unit.
