The Chevrolet Camaro has always been loved and revered by the audience at the Auto Expo. The 2016 edition of the show was no different. Onlookers thronged the Chevrolet pavilion just to have a glimpse of what is arguably the most loved performance car of the show for years now. Chevrolet brought in the 2016, sixth-generation version of the Camaro SS at the Auto Expo, and everyone, including the entire Motoroids team was in love with the way this machine looks in the flesh.

Present at the Expo in its top of the line Camaro SS variant, the exotic machine had a 6.2 litre V-8 under its long bonnet with 455 hp of peak power and 617 Nm of torque. Needless to say, it’s the most powerful Camaro SS ever. It sprints from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds and covers the quarter-mile in 12.3 seconds with the all-new eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.

The new Camaro is slightly smaller than its predecessor, but makes up for it with a dramatic, sculpted exterior, and a lower, wider and more sculpted demeanour. The Camaro has been tuned in the wind tunnel for reduced aerodynamic lift, better handling and enhanced efficiency. Only two parts have been carried over from the fifth-generation Camaro: the rear bowtie emblem and the SS badge. The SS model also gets a unique rear spoiler.

The Camaro SS model gets a high-intensity discharge, or HID, projector-beam headlamps and LED “signature lighting” daytime running lights – including a sweeping LED lightpipe integrated in the headlamp and an LED light pipe integrated into the front fascia. The SS also gets LED lighting for the rear tail lamps, including auxiliary LED light guides that mirror the shape of the front signature lighting.
