You might have seen one of our earlier posts on a funny commercial by Audi. The clip showed had an actress playing out the ‘infamous’ lift scene from the Hollywood flick, Fifty Shades of Grey. It was supposed to be hilarious, but because it went on for a while, we didn’t quite fancy it. Just when you thought that the movie couldn’t lead to any more “tickle in your stomach” commercials, BMW has just proved us all wrong. Their latest ad, at first, doesn’t appear to be any different from other run-of-the-mill car ads. It shows a family, including the husband, his wife, daughter and his mum, going along for a drive in their BMW X5. A ride which will soon turn weird for almost everyone in the car.
As with most of the luxury marques out there, many of the equipment and features on BMW cars are expensive optional extras. This particular advertisement, focuses on the optional ‘Premium Package’ for the X5. This package, adds better leather upholstery, amongst several other gimmicks for the interior of this big SUV. The ad demonstrates the 7-seater variant of the BMW X5, with the old lady (husband’s mother) sitting right at the back. We don’t know if any old lady has made you laugh or chuckle in the past, but this one certainly will. Have a watch and let us know what you think about this, rather awkward commercial.
