Auto Expo 2018: UM Unveils The Rugged New Renegade Duty S

United Motorcycles have launched a new version of their entry-level Renegade range in the form of the Duty S. This model has been designed to be ridden both on and off road and thus, the company says that they have focused on keeping the weight of the bike low for better handling and manoeuvrability.

The Duty S is powered by a 223cc single cylinder oil cooled motor that puts out 17 PS power and an equal amount of turning force through a 5-speed synchro-mesh gearbox. The bike is suspended on hydraulic telescopic suspension up front with 41 mm of travel while the rear gets traditional hydraulic springs.

In terms of instrumentation, the bike gets a digital speedo with a gear indicator. The Duty S also gets 280 mm disc brakes up front while the rear gets conventional drum brakes. UM has given the bike a ground clearance of 180mm that will allow it to traverse through rough terrain with ease.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajeev Mishra, CEO of UM Lohia said, “We have received an overwhelming response to our cruisers since we launched them at the last expo. By unveiling the Thor we want to establish our technological advancement for the Indian market, reiterating the fact that we’re here to stay.”
