2014 BMW X5 spied inside out

Added in: News

The 2014 BMW X5 has been spotted testing on numerous occasions. The all new model will make its public debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September this year and has been yet again spotted testing in China.

While the 2014 X5 test mule continues to roam around with plenty of camouflage on the outside, it is now pretty much well known how the car would look like. The car will borrow plenty of design cues from the Concept X4 and will feature a more aggressive styling.

Thanks to this latest batch of spy pics, we now also know what the interiors of the upcoming car would look like. As can be seen, the car will get a gesture-based iDrive controller, with the centre console layout and design being pretty similar to that of the current car’s centre stack. The test mule can be seen sporting chocolate brown interior upholstery and safely expect this interior colour option to make it to production spec car. The interiors will also get sleeker and curvier faux wood inserts for the dashboard. The LCD screen will pop out on a push of a button, much like the Audi A7’s unit.

Overall, the dashboard of the new car looks neater and more minimalistic. It is expected that the front seats would provide better side and thigh supports.

It is being said that the all new 2014 BMW X5 would be at least 100 kgs lighter than the current car and the diesel variants would be powered by 245 hp 2.0 litre and 302 hp 3.0 litre diesel engines. The flagship variant might also get a 402 hp twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine.
