2013 Ducati Models: Diavel gets the ‘Strada’ treatment for touring

For 2013, Ducati has introduced the Strada variant of Diavel. The bike is meant to entice the fans of the devilish Diavel, who may want to use to machine comfortable for long distance journeys. The new models has been outfitted with with touring-friendly components that enable long distance riding comfort for both rider and passenger.

In terms of design, the Diavel Strada gets a new windscreen that provides better wind protection while still staying true to the basic design ethos of the stock Diavel. The handlebars have been pushed up by 15mm and farther away from the rider by 60mm for more riding comfort. The seat has been revised for with better cushioning and a backrest for the pillion. Additionally, the pillion now gets a new set of grab rails which are easier to hold, and a new set of foot-pegs which enhance comfort.


The Diavel Strada also gets a winter kit including heated grips, more efficient generator, two power outlets for heated jackets or other power consuming appliances like GPS. Then you have a set of panniers attached to the big machine, capable of swallowing as much as 41 liters of luggage. The tail-lamp assembly has also been nicely restyled by Ducati for the Diavel Strada.

Engine and transmission remains untouched. The Diavel Strada is powered by the same Testastretta 11-degree engine that powers the normal Diavel. Power output is rated at 162bhp and peak torque is reated at 128 Nm. The engine is mated with a six-speed nunit with slipper clutch. ABS, Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Riding Modes are standard.


All those changes have increased the weight of the big bike by about 6 kg, taking the overall dry weight to a monstrous 216kg.

The Diavel Strada is available in only one colour – titanium with a racing black frame, black wheels and black side luggage. With a service interval of more than 25,000 km, the Diavel Sttrada can haul you for a long journey, given that you have the courage to navigate this burly machine through challenging routes.
