2012 Auto Expo:Yamaha R15 Limited Edition showcased

We have always maintained that the version 2.0 of the Yamaha R15 has been among the sportiest looking bikes in the country. We love it as much for its looks as for the terrific handling package it offers. Now, we saw the glittering R15 ver 2.0 in two new color schemes and the really good part of one of these new paint schemes of the racy looking bikes is an all new set of body graphics on the Fiery red colour. The other new paint scheme is the White, which is similar to the one on version 1.0 but suits the V2.0 even more.

The Fiery Red scheme is sports fire flame graphic design which covers the front fairing and continues to flow till the rear. Very well executed, we must say.

Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., said commented about the overall Yamaha’ s Indian operations,“Yamaha has always been a committed player in the two-wheeler market and makes consistent efforts to adapt to market demand by launching exciting products year-on-year. The Indian scooter segment is growing tremendously and we see a lot of potential in this segment. We have developed a scooter prototype that has got the Yamaha DNA and signifies “Cool and Beauty” image, which are the right words for describing young Indian girls. With the launch of our scooter model later this year, Yamaha would now be present across all growing 2-Wheeler segments. On behalf of India Yamaha family, I extend our gratitude towards our loyal customers and channel partners who have played a key role in our consistent growth in India over the years. We’d like to reinforce our commitment to the Indian market with our investment plans of Rs. 800 crores over the next two years and are targeting to achieve total sales of 1 million units in 2013.”

The recently launched color schemes are priced at INR. 1,10,000 (Ex – Showroom Delhi) and these demand a slight premium over the regular models.

Now, the most important part: These two new paint schemes are available as ‘limited edition’ and as the name suggests, these might go out of production sooner than one might expect.
