What is it?

The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is a value for money motorcycle, though it’s still beyond the reach of many Pulsar enthusiasts on a tight budget. Power-train: The power house on the 150NS and 180NS are expected be the same engines that are found on the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180 DTS-i. So expect to see a minor bump in power figures from the existing 15 hp and 17 hp on the Pulsar 150 DTS-i and Pulsar 180 DTS-i respectively. We also expect Bajaj to apply the three-spark plug technology to these two motorcycles.

Upcoming Motorcycles 2015 - Yamaha YZF-R3 - 1

For more pictures and technical specifications of the Yamaha R3, click here>>>

What is it?

The Yamaha YZF R25 / R3 duo is keenly anticipated by Yamaha aficionados as a performance offering by their favourite motorcycle maker. While the R15 introduced the industry to modern technology and cutting-edge engineering in a relatively mainstream segment, it never had the power or the size to set the imagination of Yamaha fans on fire. The 250-300cc segment has seen a lot of action of late, and KTM has really raised the bar for the class. The R25 / R3 duo, even upon its arrival will not probably bring something entirely new to the table, what with the Ninja 300, KTM RC390 and Duke 390 already having offered some options to the two-wheel aficionados. The lack of a Deltabox frame on the two bikes is another downer. Powered with a parallel twin engine, however, the R25/R3 would still offer a great option to the hardcore Yamaha fans, especially if it’s priced right.

Power-train: The Yamaha YZF R25 is powered by a parallel twin 250cc engine that benefits from liquid cooling and DOHC layout. Max power is rated at 36 ps@12000 Rpm, with peak torque being pegged at 22.1 Nm@ 10000 Rpm. The engine comes mated to a six speed transmission.
At the heart of the new Yamaha YZF-R3 is a 321cc inline, two-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 42PS of power and 29.6Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with constant mesh, 6-speed transmission. The R3 uses R-series technology which includes a direct-drive camshaft, forged pistons, carburized con-rods, low-friction cylinders and much more.

Expected Launch: Early 2015

Expected Price: 2.2-2.5lakh (R25) 2.5-2.8 lakh (R3)

Rivals: KTM RC390, Ninja 300, KTM Duke 390

For more pictures and technical specifications of the Yamaha R25, click here>>>

What is it?

The R15 has been around for some time, and all of us know the good it has done to the Indian motorcycle industry by bringing some modern tech to a market which was still surviving on two decades old technology. The version 2.0 took a departure from the friendly demeanour of its original predecessor by adopting an aggressive riding stance and a sportier look. For version 3.0, we don’t really expect any big mechanical or tech-related changes. Expect the version 3.0 to feature minor stylistic improvements, a few more colors and special graphics.

Power-train: Engine-tranny combo on the R15 is expected to remain largely unaltered. The technical updates for the refreshed bike may include a new fuel injection system and a remapped ECU, which would lead to 18PS of max power (up by 1PS). The torque figure, at 15 Nm, is expected to remain unchanged. However, it is being said that the remapped ECU would lead to a better torque curve and hence, a more useful midrange.

Expected launch: Early 2015

Expected price: Rs 1.1 – 1.2 lakh

Rivals: Hero Karizma ZMR, Pulsar 200SS, KTM RC200

What is it?

In its 2015 avatar, the new R1 pushes the envelope by adopting race derived technology and power & performance figures which are tough to match. The high-performance sport motorcycle has been developed from the scratch without any restrictions. New concepts and designs have been explored and executed, making the R1 the kind of machine that, up to now, only factory riders could ever experience. The Yamaha R1 has always been a legendary nameplate and the new R1 takes its legacy forward with pride and authority. The liter-class sportsbike world has been a bit overwhelmed ever since the S1000RR muffled the Japanese with its dominating performance. It’s heartening to see the Japanese making a comeback with the likes of the Ninja ZX-10R and now the R1.

Power-train: The Yamaha R1 is powered by a compact 4 cylinder, 4-valve crossplane engine with 200PS of power and a dry weight of only 175 kg, making the new R1 a rocketship on two wheels. The widespread use of advanced electronic control technologies genuinely underlines the R1’s positioning as the next generation superbike. Fully equipped with banking sensitive Traction Control, as well as Slide Control, Front Lift Control, Quickshifter, Launch Control, ABS and a Unified Brake System – and much more – the next generation R1 introduces racers and track day riders to a new era of rider-adaptive performance.

  1. Looking at HMSI, I don’t think so the CB series will make it to India in 2015… Even I feel that they won’t ever make it to India…

  2. what is the possibility of KTM 390 Adventure ever seeing a daylight. I recently red a report on their official fanpage that KTM is not developing any adventure bike based on duke platform as Duke is naked street bike and you need entirely different platform, chassis for dual purpose adventure motorbike.
