The Skoda Rapid when launched was a cheaper alternative to the Volkswagen Vento and a car which was only cosmetically different than the VW sedan. The Rapid until now was available with two engine options, the 1.6 MPi petrol and the 1.6 TDI oil burner which it shared with the Vento. The new 2014 Skoda Rapid is about to be launched soon and although the refreshed version will retain the same petrol motor, the diesel will now be the 1.5 TDI which is already doing duty in the new Polo and will also make its way in the refreshed Vento.
