Hyosung to launch GV250 and GV650 this year

With the Indian bikers getting more and more aware, the two wheeler market is opening up to performance oriented machines. There are lots of new motorcycles in the 200cc and above segment and these are turning out to be the hot sellers among both youngsters and motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages and sizes. The quarter-litre and 600cc segment bikes have seen significantly large sales figures in the last six months and with the new KTM 200 and Ninja 650 coming out, the Indian biking scene is becoming more exciting and better. Now we hear that Hyosung is bringing its 250cc and a 650cc cruiser bike in India.
The GV250 cruiser is expected to be launched after the Korean bike maker comes out with GT250R. This bike features a slightly detuned-for-torque version of the Hyosung GT250R’s engine. On the GV250 cruiser, this 250cc, air-oil cooled, fuel injected engine mated to a five speed gearbox is expected to produce about 25 Bhp of peak power and 24 Nm of peak torque. Incidentally, the GV250 cruiser had been launched in India many years ago by the erstwhile Kinetic Motors as the Kinetic Aquila.

The Hyosung GV650 Cruiser features a 650cc, V-twin engine and a five speed transmission borrowed from the ST7 Cruiser. This liquid cooled, 8 valve engine produces a peak power of about 70 Bhp and a peak torque of 60 Nm. The Hyosung GV650 is expected to be launched in late May 2012, at a price under INR 5 lakhs.
