Triumph Street Triple 2023: Deliveries Commence for R and RS Variants

Triumph enthusiasts can rejoice as the much-anticipated 2023 Street Triple R and RS models are set to hit the streets. Launched in June at Rs 10.17 lakh and 11.81 lakh respectively, minor homologation hurdles delayed the delivery process. These models now come with a slightly adjusted price tag, with an increase of around Rs 1 lakh for the former and Rs 50,000 for the latter.

Triumph’s Stride in the Indian Market

This launch marks a significant milestone for Triumph in India, especially since Bajaj took over the reins of its sales and service operations in April. Alongside the Street Triple, the introduction of the more budget-friendly Speed 400 is also in the works. Triumph aims to expand its network to 120 showrooms by the end of this fiscal year.

The 765cc, liquid-cooled, triple-cylinder engine of the new Street Triple has benefited from Triumph’s experiences in the Moto2 world championship. Notable enhancements include new pistons, con rods, shorter intake trumpets, a new camshaft, and increased valve lift. These refinements result in a power boost to 120hp on the R and 130hp on the RS. Both models maintain a torque figure of 80Nm.

Triumph Street Triple Chassis Revisions for Enhanced Dynamics

Both variants have undergone chassis revisions, featuring a sharper rake and reduced wheelbase. The track-focused RS goes a step further with a taller subframe, achieved through a 20mm spacer on the monoshock. A significant alteration in the Street Triple R is the shift to Continental ContiRoad tires from the previously used Pirelli Diablo Rosso III. Meanwhile, the RS model comes equipped with the high-performance Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tires.

Triumph Street Triple Upgraded Braking Hardware

While the R continues to feature the Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers, the RS receives a notable braking upgrade. It now boasts the advanced Brembo Stylema units, surpassing the already capable M50s it was equipped with before.

In summary, Triumph’s latest offerings promise heightened performance, refined dynamics, and upgraded features. With deliveries underway, riders can soon experience the exhilaration of these updated Street Triple models on Indian roads.
