Many automobile manufacturers are reporting positive sales numbers for the month of August year on year. However, Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported negative sales figures as the company managed to sell 12,384 units in August 2014 compared to 15,219 units during the same period last year. The year on year sales for the month of August fell by 18.62 percent. The company exported 1,169 units of Etios series last month. In the domestic market, Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 11,215 units in August 2014 as compared to 12,007 units in same period last year.
The company remains optimistic and expects the festive season to change the scenario and boost sales numbers. N Raja, Director and Senior Vice – President, Sales and Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “We look forward to increased demand in the coming months due to the festive season. We would like to thank our customers for the continuing success of the recently launched Corolla Altis and Etios Cross. The new models continue to generate high demand in the market based on its strengths of Quality, Durability and Reliability – QDR.”
