Tata Motors record growth in passenger and commercial vehicles sales in April 2016

Tata Motors has recorded a  year-over-year sales growth of 8.9% for total commercial and passenger vehicles sales (including exports) in April 2016. The automaker sold 39,763 vehicles in April this year as compared to 36,190 vehicles sold in April 2015. The domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for last month were 35,978 units recording a growth of 11% over 32,404 vehicles, sold in the same corresponding month last year.

Last month, Tata Motors sold 11,161 units of passenger vehicles; the figure has grown by 7.9% as compared to 10,341 units sold in April 2015. 9,451 passenger cars were sold last month that is higher by 5.9%, over April 2015 figures and also UV sales increased by over 7.7% at 1,389 units in April 2016.

The company’s recorded a growth of 13.3% in the sales of commercial vehicles by selling 25,138 vehicles in April 2016 in the domestic market.Sales of Light commercial vehicles and medium and heavy commercial vehicles also were at 12,416 and 12,722 recording a growth of 13.3% over the figures in April 2015.

Exports

The company’s sales from exports stand at flat at 3,785 units in April 2016, compared to April 2015.
