The Tata Kite 5, a homegrown, fast looking compact sedan made its worldwide debut today at the Auto Expo 2016. Employing Tata’s IMPACT design language, the Kite 5 promises best in class driving pleasure in the sub-4 meter sedan segment and will come fitted with the connectnext system.
Designed to appeal to the youth, the Kite 5 has been designed to look youthful and sporty. Sporting dual chamber headlamps at the front, a strong shoulder line makes the car lengthy, while LED tail lamps accentuate the rear. It will come fitted with an integrated roof spoiler, housing a high mounted LED stop lamp that lends the car a very GTish look.
Although the car will be made available with both diesel and petrol engine options, details about the diesel haven’t been revealed yet. A 1.2L, 3 cylinder Revotron petrol engine pushing 85 PS at 6000 rpm and 114 NM of torque at 3500 rpm will come paired with a selectable driving mode system that will offer ECO and CITY modes.
Dual airbags, ABS, EBD and a corner stability control system will take care of safety, while navigation and a Juke car music app first seen on the Zica will be embedded in the Connectnext system. Photography of the cabin wasn’t allowed, however, expect the insides to look more or less like the interiors of the Bolt and the Zest.
