Videocon have launched a new mobile phone in association with Ducati, called V6200. We  had told you that that there was a press con being held regarding this  development, in Worli with Shruti Hassan as the chief guest. The  details of the new phone are out, and it seems like a rugged phone with a  lot of featured which are going to lure the bikers among us. Apart from  a rugged design, the cellphone has useful features for tourer bikers,  such as GPS, Thermometer, Barometer, Altimeter, Digital Compass etc. It  look like great value for money going by the price tag of Rs. 12000. Not just the features are good, the phone is also Ducati branded ? what else does a biker want.
Would you buy one immediately? Let us know if you will, and if you won?t and why?

Want to see how tough it is and how good is the GPS. If it excels in all departments- I guess its worth the buy. Am sure the price of 11k has something to do with Ducati's co-branding.

Given the fact that the website doesnt anywhere mention this to be a weather proof phone, I guess I will give it a pass...! for now the Samsung Marine will stay as my back up biking phone! It may not have the GPS and jazzy features but its one tough phone!!!! Waterproof, dust proof, shockproof!!!! Has a great battery life!!! and has a good LED torch!

And probably much beyond thier capabilities! I am told that to declare it weather proof one has to go through a very tough process that is actually a military standard! That for the n00b like videocon might be tough!

If it would have been an android OS with the size of acer-ferrari mobile screen, it is a definite buy!

but atleast we have a ducati-desi phone :D

too many mobile phones these days, loads of desi companies coming up with fair phones (not this one) too! Indian market is going good for mobile and bikes now :)

Whether they tie up with Ducati or Rolls Royce, it's ultimately a VIDEOCON.

Having owned videocon appliances I know what passes off as quality according to them. I also know what kind of after sales these people have. Buy at your own peril.

For that money you can buy a dedicated GPS unit AND a phone (and neither of them imported from by Videocon from the cheapest China bidder either).

An Indian Company thats selling a Chinese import and branding it with an Italian manufacturer! This is a world phone!!!

I hope this one atleast stirs a change in the mobile market and more people bring in 'adventure' phones in India!
