Ducati have revealed their highly anticipated 'low-cost' bike for India. A mix of the smaller 696 and the bigger 796, the Monster 795 keeps some bits from the 796, such as the 803cc L-twin engine without any detuning. The design too seems to be taken over from the 796. However, some more exotic bits such as the single sided swingarm has been given up for the sake of Cost effectiveness. Ducati's official 795 page says that the bike is available in India, though the prices are still now out.

All the details about the bike can be read on the Motoroids homepage by clicking here.

Do let us know your views about the new Asia specific machine, and the pricing you expect on it.

Any clue is they have skimped on other tech like traction control, clutch, etc?
I like 'em Naked.

Why does an air cooled 2V not particularly high revving engine need a desmodromic valvetrain?

Monster 796 was for RM99950 and was for INR 950000 in India byt that logic it means that the Monster 795 priced at RM 5999 should be about INR5.70L!

I guess its the lower Cost of assembly than anything else.

Air cooled sounds scary to me...considering the Indian climate. Maybe they can supply a Ducati merchandised water spray bottled (hajaam type)....so once the engine gets too hot, we can give a quick spray bath to the heads at a red stop ;)

The spirit deep inside wants you to feel and roam,
To see the vast majestic lands where you feel so much at home
With every passing highway your heart skips a beat,
Watching the sun setting across the horizon, the soul in you craving to make it big

For years you cried and chanted prayers,
As the night's darkness engulfed, you in layers
Little did you ponder, Your destiny be rewritten,
With you the Gods be pleased, and the roads be smitten

As the cool wind blows and the skies set ablaze,
The fireworks of divinity begun and the toast we raise
Clapped with thunder the lightning strikes,
Seldom do things arrive with such a might!
As does lightning that flares up the night,

The attitude in you says "never to give up in a fight"
Sculpt to perfection through a thousand chisels,
A legend is born, on which the sun sizzles
Tempting one and all in its lustful red,
Raw power be unleashed, but holds its breath

Its not just a machine of moulded metal,
But the love of an artist painted on petal
A mere twist of the throttle, takes you on a roll,
The Monster rideā€¦ just not the body but moves your soul

"For a true rider- his spirit, attitude and the bonding with his machine is what really conquers all obstacles till his destination. The photograph symbolizes that very character of a rider in the darkest of nights. It does not matter how dark the night (circumstances) is, but his sheer passion when struck- even for a fraction of time, flares up every inch. The monster symbolizes perfection and brings up that very attitude and bonding in a rider. A whimsical impression of an artist incarnated into form by laborious hands makes it stand out from the ordinary."
