Tata 45X Hatchback To Be Launched In August 2019 – Will Rival The Baleno and Elite i20

Some of the most exciting products these days are coming from Tata Motors. With their flagship, the Harrier to be launched shortly, another stunner, the 45X hatchback will be launched in August 2019. A smashing looking concept which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2018, like the Harrier, the production-spec 45X too will get a better name before it goes on sale.

The premium hatchback will rival the likes of the Maruti Baleno and the Hyundai Elite i20. Its form follows Tata Motors’ Impact Design 2.0 language and it reflects in that aggressive and mean looking face, which is a departure from the ‘Smiling’ faces of Tata cars we were used until now. If the Nexon and the Harrier are indicators, we expect the production-spec Tata 45X to stay pretty honest to the concept displayed at the Expo. If that happens, expect this hatchback to be more substantial and bigger than all its rivals.

Following the footsteps of the manufacturer’s new products, expect the 45X to carry as many and a few more features than its rivals. So things like a large touchscreen display, driving modes, automatic aircon, oodles of space, and a lot more will be a part of the package. We expect this car to be powered by the same set of diesel and petrol engines which power the Nexon. However, delivery characteristics could be tuned to suit the car’s form and application. What we would really love to see though, is a JTP version of this hatchback. Until then, the Tata Harrier will be here soon and will be initially available in a 5-seater format. A 7-seater, 170 HP, 4WD version is said to be in the works and could be launched next year too. We’ll bring you more updates on that. Stay tuned!
