We all know of this news.

I wonder that why Honda did this.

I saw some figures in the morning in the newspaper. It was very clear that City is losing its market share. It is primarily because of lack of a diesel option. To make the value preposition of the City better, they have rediced the price rather than introducing a diesel variant which would have raised the price further.

I like the way City looks and feel but its not really a fun car to drive. However it was selling because of Honda brand, looks, comfortable ride and its status value. But the high prices of petrol have made people re-think their decision.

Do you think that the price drop is sufficient?

A noob in cars!

May be they getting rid of this model, so dumping everything to India…
Why would they do it?
A competing product in same segment?
A competing product in a cheaper segment available from them or someone else

If Honda has to drop the price, for clearance sale. Its even bad news.

I think, looking at the sale going downwards, Honda has decided that they can't afford to overfill their pockets by milking Indians, so lets just fill our pockets and hope to gain in some numbers. After all City is the only car that sells.

Diesel & maybe localization.

If not, may be some sane head at Honda India decided to rake in reasonable profit margin.
