The Yamaha FZ1 has been replaced by the all new MT-10 but it’s still one of the finest and refined litre-class naked roadsters around today. There are quite a few up for purchase in the used superbike market and some of them are available at really tempting prices. But should you know before you sign the crossed mark for the Yamaha FZ1? One of our readers and an avid YouTuber, Nitin Menon shares his long term ownership experience with the motorcycle. Menon answers almost all the queries that you’d need to know before buying the Yamaha FZ1.
Check out his ownership experience in the video below:
In case you missed the technical specifications, the Yamaha FZ1 uses the same 998 cc, liquid-cooled, 20-valve, DOHC, in-line four-cylinder engine as the previous generation YZF-R1. The engine on the roadster is tuned to deliver 150 hp of power @ 11,000 rpm and 106.8 Nm of torque @ 8,000 rotations and comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
