New TVS Scooty Zest 110 Review: Value Redefined

Ergonomics

With a seat height of 760 mm, the average Indian woman (height wise) will find it easy to ride. All the switches fall to hand with the only issue being the parking brake. The parking brake requires a large hand to operate. The operation of the throttle requires minimal effort and the big speedometer console with white background is easy to read.

As mentioned earlier, putting the scooter on the centre stand is effortless due to the EaZy centre stand. The textured floor board is spacious enough to accommodate long legs of a 6ft person. The scooter gets an auto choke feature for easy starts. The seat is wide and long and should be comfortable on long journeys.

Verdict

With a low kerb weight, a peppy engine and a lot of useful features, the TVS Scooty Zest 110 proves to be a good option for young girls and ladies who looking for a peppy light weight scooter. Although compact in size, the Scooty Zest isn’t any less powerful than the bigger 110cc scooters out there. In fact, with the lower kerb weight, the Zest feels peppier and offers great performance. Another surprising factor is the generous space and storage spaces on offer. It’s better than some of the other bigger scooters, which is a fantastic thing to have, especially for a compact scoot.

Great styling, fantastic build quality, light weight and an easy to ride character make the Scooty Zest a compelling choice for the members of the fairer sex. This is especially true when you look at the price at which the new scooter is offered. An ex-showroom price of Rs 42,300 (at the time of test) is significantly lower than the other 110cc offerings in the segment, which retail for Rs 50K or thereabouts. That’s a saving of Rs 7k, which is huge for this price segment.

Though supposedly compact, the Scooty Zest doesn’t skimp on quality, convenience, space or comfort – which apart from making it convincing choice for ladies, should also make it a viable option for young college going boys who care more for value than anything else. In black, the machine can very well pass as a unisex scooter for the youngsters.

With the Zest, TVS is offering a 2 year or 36,000 km warranty (whichever comes earlier). Extended warranty is also available upto 3 years or 60,000 kms. All of which makes the Scooty Zest one hell of a value package in its latest avatar. Do give this one a thought, if getting the maximum bang for your buck is high on your agenda.
