Hero MotoCorp has extended its iSmart line up with the launch of its new executive commuter, the new Achiever 150. The motorcycle launch is the part of the 15 product portfolio that Hero MotoCorp plans to launch in this financial year.
Now although the two-wheeler maker has not tagged the new 2016 Achiever 150 with the iSmart badge, the motorcycle does feature Hero MotoCorp’s trademark i3S (Idle-stop-start system) technology. The tech puts the engine into hibernation when the bike is idle (only in neutral gear) while the power is turned back ON once the clutch is pulled. The new engine is BS-IV compliant.
Visually, the silhouette remains identical to the previous model but the new Achiever 150 features new Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) & winkers, a large visor, bulging fender and cowl and new graphics. The fuel tank has been enlarged and it now comes equipped with flush type lid. Other list of changes include new rear fairing, tail light, RR grip and muffler cover. Moreover, the instrument cluster also gets a side-stand indicator. The switchgear on the right side of the handlebar holds the i3S switch.
Mechanically, the new Achiever 150 draws power from a 149.1cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which comes mated to a 5-speed constant mesh tramsmission. Performance number, at 13.4 bhp of power @ 8000 rpm and 12.5 Nm of torque @ 5000 rpm, are identical to the previous model.
Special edition Hero MotoCorp Achiever 150
The new Achiever 150 has been priced at INR 62,800 and INR 61,800 – ex-showroom – for the disc and drum brake variants respectively and will be available in three colour options – Panther Black Metallic, Candy Blazing Red and Ebony Grey Metallic. Hero MotoCorp will also offer a special edition Achiever which will mark the 70 millionth bike to roll of the production line. The special edition motorcycle will be limited to 70 units only.
