To cater a crowd that prefers low-end torque and diesel efficiency, the Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI will be launched in the Indian market today. A whole 100 kgs lighter than the predecessor, styling wise, the W205 mimics the bigger S Class, maintaining the family look. Executed in dynamic fashion, the new C class looks bolder, appealing and more premium than the outgoing car. Even on the inside, the cabin looks rich and is bristling with fresh new bits. The new 2015 C Class gets what Mercedes calls “Cobra-look” sporty front seats with integral head restraint. The newly designed rear seats are said to enhance the comfort for the rear-seat passengers who also get more legroom and knee room. The new infotainment system features 3D navigation and also allows networking with mobile devices via Bluetooth. Garmin MAP PILOT sat-nav works in tandem with the Audio 20 CD and gets its map data from an SD card with navigation software. Mercedes-Benz Apps such as Mercedes-Benz Radio can be used even while driving. Typical German engineering is clearly visible in the usage of high quality materials all round and the entire cabin embodies a new design idiom, as Mercedes terms it, “It is akin to the uplifting feeling of being upgraded from economy to business class on an airplane.”
