Kawasaki KX100 and KX250F Launched in India : Complete Details, Images, Tech Spec and Prices

India Kawasaki Motors expanded its product line-up with the launch of the new KX100 and KX250 Motocross Race Bikes in the country. The two, track only motorcycles were launched in India at Rs 4.69 lakh and Rs 7.14 lakh respectively and would be brought to India via CBU route.

The KX100 gets the unmistakable looks of the larger KX motocross models. Kawasaki says that the all-new bodywork, sharp graphics package and numerous factory-style touches contribute to a strong KX family image. The KX100 draws power from a 99c liquid-cooled, two-stroke single cylinder engine with piston reed valve induction and comes mated to a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle is built around a high-tensile steel perimeter design with subframe member that is claimed to have been designed to harness the engine’s power.

The motorcycle rides on 70/100-19 tyre upfront and 90/100-16 tyre at the rear. Suspension duties are performed by 36mm inverted telescopic cartridge fork with 20-way compression damping upfront and Uni-Trak single shock system with 24-way compression and 21-way rebound damping plus adjustable spring preload at the rear. Stopping power is provided by petal disc brakes at the front and rear. The front features a 220 mm disc with dual-piston caliper and while the rear gets a 184 mm disc and single-piston caliper.

The KX250, on the other hand, is claimed to be the single-most dominant motocross bike of the last decade and has a history of winning in the 4-stroke 250cc class. Kawasaki says that the all-new KX250F for 2017 offers a more powerful engine, a significantly lighter chassis, and slimmer ergonomics, making this new model the fastest KX250F motorcycle yet.

The motorcycle draws power from a 249cc 4-stroke, 1-cylinder, DOHC, water-cooled engine that comes mated to a five-speed transmission. Braking duties are performed by single semi-floating 270mm Braking petal disc with dual-piston caliper upfront and Single 240mm Braking petal disc with single-piston caliper at the rear.

Suspension tasks on the KX250F are taken care by 48mm inverted Showa SFF telescopic fork with 40-way spring preload adjustability and 22-position compression and 20-position rebound damping adjustability upfront and Uni-Trak linkage system and Showa shock with 19-position low-speed and 4-turns high-speed compression damping, 22-position rebound damping, fully adjustable spring preload at the rear.
