The face-lifted 2015 Toyota Camry has been launched in India today. After making its debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, the new Camry will be available in an all-petrol as well as a tree hugging hybrid format. Mechanically identical to the outgoing model, the new Camry continues to be powered by a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle – 4 cylinder engine. In the hybrid variant, coupled with a high – torque electric motor, it pumps out 205 PS of power, yet returns an efficiency figure of 19.16 kpl and emits 122.8 gm of CO2 per km. Transmission duties are handled by an electronically controlled continuous variable transmission system. The Camry Hybrid is a self charging vehicle, wherein the electric motor harnesses the kinetic energy generated during braking and deceleration, converts it to electric energy and uses it from the battery pack to propel the car forward.

Cosmetic changes on the outside include a different looking radiator grille in comparison to the outgoing model, new LED headlamps with daytime running lamps, 15″ Alloy Wheels, auto folding & reverse linked OVRMs with memory, Acoustic Glass (in Hybrid only), Rear Combination lamp with LED lights and rear fog lamps.
The Camry Hybrid comes with an an advanced three zone air conditioning system which ensures healthy air inside the cabin, courtesy of a pollen filter and nanoe water coated ion technology which moisturizes the occupants’ skin and hair and deodorises the interiors. The Camry Hybrid and Petrol also come with first in segment luxury features like a powered reclining rear seat (upto 8 degrees), a front seat ventilation system, wood-finish center console, rear armrest with controls for seat recline, rear sunshade, windshield, audio system and air-conditioning. Apparently, the Camry Hybrid is India’s first ever locally manufactured Hybrid car to receive a demand incentive under the FAME scheme in India.
The 2015 Toyota Camry scores high on safety too. It packs 7 airbags, including ones which protect your knees, a vehicle stability control system, Hill-start assist control, Anti lock brake system with EBD and Brake Assist, Impact Absorbing Vehicle Body, Rear seats with Isofix Standard and a Back Monitor with Corner Sensors. The 2015 Toyota Camry is available in seven colours – Dark Brown Mica Metallic, Attitude Black, Grey Metallic, White Pearl Crystal Shine, True Blue Mica Metallic (exclusive for Hybrid), Silver Metallic and Greyish Blue Mica Metallic (exclusive for Gasoline).
