Seen here are few pics that Yamaha showcased during a recent business briefing in Tokyo. These pics represent the manufacturer’s future engine plans.

One of the upcoming engines will be seen powering the 2014 Yamaha MT-09. This bike too was teased some days back, -with a tagline that says ‘Dark side of Japan’. The Yamaha MT-09’s 847cc three-cylinder engine will have a max power of 113Bhp@10000rpm and 64.5 lb-ft of peak torque at 8,500 rpm.

Yet another future Yamaha engine that catches our attention is a twin cylinder mystery motor that could power an upcoming Honda CBR500 rival.

The upcoming 500cc parallel twin motor could be liquid cooled and have a peak power of around 50Bhp and a max torque of 42 Nm.

This latest revelation means that we should keep an eye open for an upcoming Yamaha 500cc motorcycle, other than, of course, a 250cc Yamaha sportsbike built on the lines of the R15. This quartier litre bike would challenge the Honda CBR250R and Hyosung GT250R.
