India Yamaha Motor celebrated the World Environment Day by launching a plantation drive in and around its plant area in Surajpur. This year’s theme for the World Environment Day is ‘Sustainable Consumption and Production’ with the supporting slogan ‘Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.’ All the employees along with the senior management took the pledge to protect the environment and make eco-friendly choices to contribute to a greener world.
On this occasion, the employees were distributed the environment day badges and took part in the signature campaign & demonstrate their commitment towards environment conservation. Poster making and quiz competitions were also among the several activities which were held to create awareness among the employees. Over 5,000 Tulsi saplings were distributed to the employees as it is considered beneficial for the environment.
In addition to this, PUC camps were held across company’s 26 dealerships across various cities including Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata etc. Tulsi saplings were also distributed to customers who visited the dealerships on the day.
The company’s SJP plant also collaborated with the 39th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP, Lakhnawali Camp, Surajpur) for the tree plantation and over 500 saplings were planted at the ITBP campus. A signature campaign was also initiated at the ITBP campus where the officials from both the organizations expressed their commitment towards a cleaner and greener environment.
