What do You Think About the Chevrolet Sail U-VA TVC ?

Chevrolet India has launched a new TVC of its recently launched Chevrolet Sail U-VA hatchback.  The Sail U-VA replaces the low selling Aveo U-VA hatchback in our car market and the hatch looks all set to be joined by the sedan version in a few months.

We have always maintained that the unexciting styling and lack of an oil burner are the main reasons for the Aveo siblings not managing to do well in India. While the styling of the Sail isn’t out of the world by any stretch of imagination, the option of a well sorted out oil burner should make life easier for the boffins at GM India.

Appended below is the Chevrolet Sail U-VA TVC:

We feel that while the TVC has a really energetic sound track and the car has been well shot, the clip should have focussed more on the interior space of the Sail, which is the car’s trump card. Also, the clip could have done better by speaking a fair bit about the stellar fuel efficiency of the 1.3 Multijet diesel engine that is on offer.

The Sail UV-A is very well priced for what it offers and we do appreciate the TVC showing the features available. However, the TVC seems to be portraying the Sail U-VA as a premium offering, which it certainly is not.

We really hope that we are wrong with our notions here and that the TVC clicks well with the Indian car buying lot.
