Volkswagen India sold 4,039 units in June 2015 as compared to 3,079 units sold in the corresponding month, the previous year, marking an increase of 31% in overall monthly sales and an increase of 19% in Jan-June 2015 as compared to same period last year. This increase in sales can be attributed to the success of VW India’s recent launches – the new Vento and the new Jetta.
Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said, “We have witnessed our 5th consecutive increase in monthly sales, and we attribute this achievement to our recently launched New Vento, growing trust in the brand amongst consumers and an excellent dealer network. This has been an exciting year for Volkswagen Cars, and it gives us immense pleasure to report an increase of 19% in our overall sales for the period of Jan – June 2015. The growth of 31% in the month of June 2015 is higher than the industry average, and we remain confident of continuing to improve our sales figures over the coming months.”
