VIDEO: TVS Akula 310 test mule caught on camera at Bangalore-Krishnagiri highway

TVS Akula 310 - Teaser

About a month ago, images that made it to the internet revealed a test mule of TVS Akula 310 that was spotted in India for the first time. Now, a new video has caught the Akula 310, wrapped in heavy camouflage. The model is slated to enter in the production phase next year. The motorcycle was spotted on the Bangalore-Krishnagiri highway and, according to the user who uploaded the video, was equipped with a dual projector headlamp setup that is likely to be an HID or LED headlight. The test mule retains the rim design as seen on the BMW G 310 R while it is said to have had a throaty exhaust note.

Propelling the model is likely to be the G 310 R’s 310cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine that produces 34 hp and 21 Nm, although the Akula could arrive with a different state of tune. The fully faired motorcycle will also share a few other parts from its sibling such as the wheels, brakes and suspension.

As compared to the Concept showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Akula 310 in the production guise will miss out on features such as the carbon fibre finish, a gyro cam at the rear and the lightweight exhaust system. A few things that will be added to the production spec model will be the tail section, complete with turn indicators and registration plate recess, saree guard and rear view mirrors.
