September 9 is a very important day for petrol heads as well as for tech geeks. Why? The day will mark the launch of the new iPhone 6, KTM’s latest offerings to the entry level performance two-wheeler market, the RC200 and RC390 and Mercedes’ highly anticipated sports coupe, the AMG-GT.
Now, just days before the launch, Mercedes has published a teaser video, titled ‘The Mercedes-AMG GT: Development without Compromise’, which showcases the tiresome testing that the German carmaker has put the AMG-GT through.
The video begins with the text: 32 months of engineering road tests in the new Mercedes-AMG GT. The video continues with clips of various mules being tested in different climates and conditions with 50 different drivers through 15 different countries.
The Mercedes-AMG GT will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and will come in two different engine tunes. The base variant will sport a 462hp engine while the high performance S-model will come with a 510hp unit. Both models will receive 650Nm of torque.
