German premium car maker Audi recently released a teaser video that shows the upcoming 2014 A8 facelift.
While the video doesn’t reveal the identity of the two cars beneath their respective covers, the much publicized matrix LED headlights, which are showing through the covers, are a clear giveaway of the fact that these cars indeed are the upcoming 2014 Audi A8 and S8.
The A8 facelift test mules have been spotted in India on numerous occasions and we wonder if India would become one of the first markets to get the refreshed Limo.
The much discussed Matrix LED headlights have to be the most talked about part of the 2014 A8. The most commendable bit about these headlights is that the high beam can be used continuously without blinding the drivers of oncoming vehicles. This is because the projectors are connected to a camera, which detects the line of vision of the oncoming car’s driver and switches off the diodes that fall in the line. However, the remaining part continues to remain on high beam. Clever, ain’t it?
Other than the new headlamps, the 2014 A8 facelift will also be seen sporting a set of revised taillights, new bumpers, an updated MMI system and a complete upholstery change for the interiors.
As for the engine options, safely expect them to be carried over from the pre facelift model. This means that the car would be offered with the 3.0 liter TDI diesel, the 3.0 liter & the 4.0 liter TFSI petrol and the gigantic W12 6.3 liter engine options.
The car will be unveiled on Aug 21 and will be shown to the public at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, which starts on 10 September.
