As kids, we all have tried riding bicycles without holding the handle or even popping wheelies on those BMX bikes. In trying these stunts, we often got our knees bruised and cursed ourselves for our stupidity. These small mishaps made us learn a lesson and eventually we stopped doing such antics. Making mistakes is the first step towards learning, we learnt the hard way.
But these boys from UK went a bit overboard. These two boys run out in the road which is a single carriageway. The first boy makes it to the other side leaving a bit more time for the truck to pass. The second boy, who starts a bit late, suddenly realizes that he’s not going to make it and attempts to outrun the heavily braking 40 tonne truck. The truck, which was doing 54mph, below the 60mph limit but marginally above the 50mph limit imposed on trucks on single carriageways, came to a comeplete halt in a matter of few metres easily.
According to Sky News, the incident happened in Staffordshire, England, in October 2014. However, the company that makes the dashcam has just released the footage. Police were called, but fortunately did not charge the driver for doing 4mph over the speed limit. The boy was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries to his hands and knees. The boy should really thank his stars as he could have been an addition to the road accident death statistics for the UK.
