The Veerangana Express will use the Tata Magic IRIS for commuters who depend on three-wheelers. The Veerangana Express cab service managed by a group of Ladies, will ply within Municipal limits in Gwalior.

This programme has been funded by Laxmibai Mahila Sahakari Bank and is being supported by the District Collector and Transport Department. This service is being assisted by the District Industrial center by way of 30% subsidy (on-road price) under “Mukhya Mantri Swarojgar Yojana” which is an initiative by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

Tata Motors says that the programme will provide a safe, comfortable and convenient commuting option for all women customers. Women drivers will find it very easy to maneovour the car-like easy driving dynamics of the Tata Magic IRIS. This Tata product is claimed to receive several features and offer best-in-class operator economics, thus generating high savings and profits for the vehicle owners.

Alka Srivastava, Founder, Laxmibai Mahila Nagrik Sahakari Bank, added that women Empowerment has been organisation’s sole focus and ‘Veerangana Express’ will see more self-independent women in our society. The Veerangana Pink Cabs, which is for the women, by the women, will further encourage women, without having to worry about their commuting woes.

Veerangana Express has been provided auto-rickshaw permits by Transport Department on girls school & college, girls hostel etc., within Municipal limits in Gwalior. Initially, total of eight, diesel-powered, Tata Magic IRIS auto-rickshaws have been introduced under this scheme which is expected to increase over a period of time. what price of this auto rickshaw ……….kya ye future main flop to nahi hogi .tell me

  2. Nice service. They women driver themselves need to be somewhat trained to defend themselves against some miscretants becauee they may find some of thier customers are pulled. Second would like to know if they are supported by RTO law that usually deny permits to diesel autorikshaws in municipal limits.

  3. Hello Veerangana Express. First woman taxi, you did a very nice job and I want to know if I can also join.
