Last time, in July this year, we posted spy pics of this upcoming MPV from the Pune-based Force Motors. Now, we have a video of the van, which was filmed when the van was spotted testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

The upcoming Force MPV is based on the Mercedes Vito van, which was on sale in many countries from 1996 to 2003. The platform is old, but we expect Force Motors to do a good job after gaining technical assistance from Mercedes.

The Mercedes Vito derived Force MPV will be powered by the same 2.2 litre FMTECH diesel engine that powers the carmaker’s  One SUV. This engine has a max power of 140PS and for the Force MPV, is likely to come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The base variants of the Force MPV could be powered by a smaller 129 PS 2.2 litre BS3-compliant diesel engine. This smaller diesel motor is  currently doing the duty in the Force Traveller.

The upcoming Force MPV would be a 9-11 seater and could come in various variants depending on the seat layout. This MPV won’t be pitted against the Toyota Innova or the Nissan Evalia as it would be much larger in size. The expected pricing of this upcoming vehicle is around INR 10-12 lakhs.
