The 2016 BMW 7-Series has been spotted again and this time around, the G11 7-Series has been caught testing somewhere in Dubai.

The G11 7 Series is expected to be built on a lightweight platform with the use of carbon fiber, aluminium and steel.

Dressed in heavy camouflage, the prototype appears to have an evolutionary design with proportions which are similar to the outgoing model. While the car is heavily camouflaged, the cars a prominent grille can be spotted. Also can be seen is an upward sweeping beltline and at the rear, a dual exhaust system does the duty of exhaling the gases.

The use of carbon fiber means that the car is likely to shed 200 kgs of weight. The BMW i3 and i8 models make generous use of carbon fiber.

Engine options include a 260 bhp four-cylinder, a 340 bhp six-cylinder engine and a 460 bhp V8 motor. Also, we can safely expect presence of a hybrid model. Also some sources report that the 7-series could be offered with the M badge for the first time. A M770i xDrive with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 is expected to be a part of the 7-Series line up. This engine will produce a max power of 475 bhp and 650 Nm of torque.

The current BMW 7-Series was launched in India in April this year. It was only a minor update and an upgrade to the bhp figures of the diesel engine and had more equipment. The current 730Ld is brought to us via the CKD route and is assembled at BMW’s Chennai facility.
