Upcoming 2015 Subaru WRX launch to happen in early 2014

Subaru-WRX-Release-Date

Regulars here would remember that we reported in detail when Subaru unveiled the WRX concept earlier this year at the 2013 New York Motor Show and now, fresh details on the production spec model have surfaced on the cyber space.

If the concept is anything to go by, the WRX would look unlike the Impreza would come with a sharp front end, coupe-like roofline, sleek headlights and taillights and a low-placed grille. The car is expected to ride on 20 inch BBS forged alloy wheels and the WR Blue Pearl III paint shade that was seen on the concept model would be available with the production spec model.

Subaru Australia Managing Director Nick Senior recently said,”I think the real DNA of WRX over the time has been its driving credentials, and I know certainly from the factory point of view, the driving experience of the new WRX was paramount.” He also said that he has driven the new WRX and that “it will not disappoint” driving enthusiasts and Subaru fanatics, even though it has been designed to appeal to a wider audience.

The 2015 Subaru WRX could make its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show next year and we feel that it would come with a  2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with max power of 265 bhp (198 kW). The WRX STI too would come with the same engine, but with an increased power output of 305 bhp (227 kW).

It would be interesting to see how Subaru fans would react to the differently styled new WRX 2015 model. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the 2015 Subaru WRX launch.
