UM Renegade Sport S

UM Renegade Sport S unveiled at EICMA, India launch expected at the 2016 Auto Expo

While earlier reports suggested that the UM motorcycles India launch will happen by the end of 2015, more recent inputs from news agency PTI suggest that the US based motorcycle brand will launch their first product at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Renegade Sport S, as the new cruiser motorcycle is known, is scheduled for its India debut at the  2016 Auto Expo and was unveiled at the ongoing EICMA motorcycle show.

The Renegade Sport S cruiser will be propelled by a 279 cc, water cooled, fuel injected engine producing 26.6 PS of power at 8600 rpm and peak torque of 22.76 Nm at 6300 rpm. Transmission duties will be performed by a six speed gearbox.

The UM Renegade Sport S features a conventional telescopic front suspension, no upside down setup here. The rear suspension features a twin shock setup with multi rated springs. The tires are wrapped around a seven spoke 17 inch alloy wheel up front and a 15 inch alloy wheel at the back. The headlight and fairing remind us of the much larger Suzuki Intruder.

Other features include a matte finish paint-job, transparent indicators which may feature LED illumination, TVS branded tires and a split seat setup. While there is no hint about the pricing, we expect the Renegade Sport S to carry a sub Rs 2 lakh price tag. Once launched, the new Renegade Sport S will lock horns against the new Bajaj Avenger and the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350.

As reported, we would hear more about the UM Renegade Sport S at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, India. While we wait for that, share your views about the new Renegade Sport S with us through the comments section or our social networking channels.
