Two-wheeler Sales August 2015: Suzuki Motorcycles records 68% increase in sales

Suzuki Gixxer Dual Tone - 1

Suzuki Motorcycle India has clocked a healthy growth in the year on year sales numbers for the month of August 2015, registering a 67.58% increase against August 2014 numbers. Suzuki Motorcycle sold 36,636 units in August 2015 as opposed to 21,862 units in August 2014, recording a substantial growth in its overall sales.

Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIPL, says that Suzuki two wheelers has witnessed an increased acceptance of its products over the past year. The introduction of new dual tone colours in Gixxer and Let’s has given further impetus to this trend. The increase in sales numbers is also a testimony to this fact.

Last month, the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer registered a year on year growth in sales of 33 percent, selling 36,081 units in July 2015 as opposed to 27,118 units in July 2014. With the new, dual-tone Gixxer and Let’s and the upcoming festive season, the growth in sales is likely to grow with good momentum.

  1. Am quite certain the Gixxer was a major reason for that Sales Surge. With FZ2.0 climbing the pricing ladder (its freaking 95k in Mumbai). The Gixxer is close to the original price of the original FZ. Even if I have the original, i just dont feel like paying that price to go for FZ 2.0 and would merrily would have chosen Gixxer.
