Bajaj Auto has announced its year on year sales numbers for the month for August 2015. The Indian manufacturer sold 2,90,436 motorcycles in the month of August 2015, a two percent jump against 2,84,302 units in August 2014. The commercial vehicles business suffered slightly with a fall of two percent. However, the exports business saw a rise of two percent in August 2015 versus corresponding month last year.
The year to date numbers tell a slightly different story though. While the motorcycle business and exports continued to trade in positive, unlike the year on year performance, the commercial vehicle business has achieved positive growth in year to date numbers. The commercial vehicle business jumped nine percent from 2,17,561 units in April-August 2014 to 2,37,121 in April-August 2015. The overall year to date sales continue to out perform corresponding period last year by two percent.
