TVS Racing round-up : Here’s a recap of action packed October

October was an action packed month for TVS Racing where the team was able to exhibit their skills on different kinds of track. Riders participated in different races across the globe and emerged victorious. Here is a recap of all the action from the month of October.

5th round of FIM Cross Country World Rally Championship 2016, Morocco – 02nd to 08th Oct

TVS Racing’s motocross racer Aravind KP participated in the FIM Cross Country World Rally Championship 2016 in Morocco from 02nd October to 07th October. This rally is considered to be the second most tough rally in the world after Dakar. The team, Sherco TVS Rally Factory team comprised of Juan Pedrero, Adrien Metge, Lorenzo Santolino and Aravind KP finished in the 8th, 11th, 14th and 26th position respectively. Aravind finished 17th in his category – upto 450cc. He is expected to get a better start position at Dakar rally.

Raid De Himalaya Rally 2016 – 09th to 11th Oct 2016

The team also participated in the Raid de Himalaya, highest terrain rally in the world. Raid de Himalaya is rated amongst the top ten toughest rallies in the world. This year the rally covered about 700 km of treacherous terrain under brutal conditions and hostile weather through snow roads, water crossings, broken roads, loose rocks, hair pin gradient bends. Only 34 out of 78 (40%) of the participants made it to the finish line.

This year the rally was called off after the 3rd day owing to the tragic death of biker Subhamoy Paul after a fatal crash. The results were then calculated as per the performance of the riders on the first three days. TVS racer Abdul Wahid won the title for the motorcycle category followed by R Nataraj in the first runners-up position. Another rider from the TVS Racing team, Rajendra won the title for the category “Motorcycles upto 260cc”.

4th round of National Road Racing Championship 2016 – Chennai – 09th Oct

The racers also won laurels in the 4th round of MRF MMSC FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship in Chennai. Kannan Subramaniayam both races in the prestigious Super Sport Indian 165cc class. Other team riders Jagan and Harry finished 2nd and 3rd place respectively in this category. Jagan is leading the championship for this category so far. The concluding round for this season will be held in December this year.
