TVS ‘male specific’ 125cc scooter spotted testing in Chennai

Regulars here would remember that we recently reported that South India based bike manufacturer TVS is readying a new automatic scooter that would cater to the ‘male specific’ automatic scooter market. We also reported when a TVS automatic scooter was recently spotted testing on public roads of South India. While the scooter was heavily camouflaged, we could make out from its basic form that the said vehicle did not possess the dimensions of a ‘male specific’ scooter.

Today, another TVS Scooter has been spotted in Chennai. The scooter was spotted by our friend Karthic Ganesan aka Mr.Ace. The scooter that has been spotted today was fully camouflaged but it can be easily made out from the pics that upcoming TVS that you see here is a well grown scoot that might rub shoulders with the Suzuki Access and the Honda Aviator.

Karthic tells us that the test mule of the upcoming TVS vehicle sported drum brakes on both the alloy wheels. The wheels might be 10 inches in diameter. An interesting detail that we see is the positioning of the fuel lid, which can be seen, placed above the tail lamp.

Karthic says that the instrument cluster of the upcoming scooter is pretty ordinary and is similar to that of most scooters in 100-125cc scooter segment. This means that unlike the Rodeo, the upcoming TVS scooter doesn’t boast of digital speedo and the likes. However, the scooter does sport a shutter type key lock mechanism.

Karthic says that it was hard for him to keep up with the TVS test mule on his Suzuki Access, which hints at the possibility of the scooter’s class leading power figure. The scooter might also have a 135cc engine. It would be seen if TVS Motors, which is a scooter specialist, would be able to give sleepless nights to the boffins at Honda Scooters and Motorcycles India.
