Truck carrying Tata Aria launch vehicles crashes!

As we told you earlier, the Tata Aria is all slated for a launch today afternoon. But as fate would have it, the truck carrying five Tata Arias for the launch function crashed in Mumbai last night. From what the Mumbai Mirror newspaper reports, the truck left from Tata’s facility in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune at 12:40 on Sunday night. But while heading to the Tata Office in Mumbai, the truck collided with the pole that supports the railway bridge near King’s Circle in Mumbai. The incident was then handled by the police who arrested the truck driver. The Tata lawyers however have bailed him out today morning. The truck with the Aria display vehicles however is still in the police custody and it awaiting a decision at the Railway Court in CST, Mumbai. Since the invites have been sent to media from all over the world, the Tata officials have requested an immediate hearing as the Aria vehicles have to be taken to the prestigious launch function which happens at 3 PM today.

“The trailer driver Mohammad Rizwan Mohammad Altaf Hussain Shaikh, 25, lost control and hit the safety and height gauge of the railway bridge,” said Sub-Inspector Trimbak Bangar of Wadala TT, RPF. He added, “We arrested the driver who managed to get bail on Sunday, but the request to release the brand new cars is pending. The matter will be heard on Monday at the railway court at CST.” Another spokesperson from Tata however said, “Five cars will not make a difference. We can always call for more from our plant.” We are sure this ill fate will not hamper the launch function in any way. We are going to be there and as always, we’ll try to bring you live updates from the function. And as we assured you earlier, the completely detailed road test of the Tata Aria is also on its way, so stay tuned to Motoroids today…
