Toyota’s Honda City Rival to Debut in 2014

We all knew that Toyota is planning to come up with a new sedan to take on the likes of the very popular Honda City. Here, we have a rendering that, in all probability, is very close to what the real deal would look like.

The new Toyota C segment sedan will be positioned between the Etios and the Corolla and will battle it out against the Hyundai Verna, VW Vento and the Honda City.

Toyota recently announced the construction of a new engine plant in Brazil to cater the growing demand for the C segment cars in the country and will churn out motors for Etios and the new sedan that will debut in 2014.

The car will be built on the Etios platform and will use the same engine. However, it will have a better build quality and look much more upmarket.

The styling of the new car will be based on the Dear Qin concepts that we saw at the Beijing Motor Show in April this year. The new car is expected to be  4.3 metre in length, 1.48 metre in height and 1.73 metre in width.

  1. In other markets, the model is called the Yaris sedan or Vios. I think by end of 2013 or in 2014, the new Vios will be introduced.
