The Toyota Etios Valco, which is basically the Etios Liva hatchback, occupies a market space of 24.2 percent in Indonesian city car segment. Hence, it doesn’t take a genius to guess that the Etios Valco is an important model for Toyota’s Indonesian subsidiary.
Launched in Indonesia in March 2013, the Etios Valco came in three trim levels- J, E and G. However, Toyota has now launched a new JX variant of the Valco hatchback in Indonesia. The new JX variant will sit between J and E.
Speaking on the launch of the Toyota Etios Valco, Johnny Darmawan, President Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor, said,“The city car segment has unique characteristics with diverse needs. The launch of the new variant is as an effort to meet the needs of Toyota’s diverse market. The Valco JX Etios is expected to be an option for people who are in profile between type J and E.”
The new Toyota Etios Valco JX variant comes equipped with dual front airbags, electronic power steering, auto-down power windows, power door lock, tilt adjustable steering and two-speakers with pre-wiring.
Also, PT Toyota Astra Motor says that the final ratio of the Valco’s gearbox has been updated for better torque spread at lower RPMs. In Indonesia, the Etios hatchback is powered by a 1.2 litres petrol engine that has a max power of 80 PS and peak torque of 106 Nm.
