Three new Bajaj Avenger motorcycles allegedly rolling out this week

New Bajaj Avenger Expected Launch

Surprising as it may sound, a recent report from Indian publication Moneycontrol/CNBC suggests that Bajaj will introduce as many as three new Avenger motorcycles for the Indian market this week. The report, dated September 28, 2015, states that Bajaj expects a jump in sales with the launch of the Avenger series. According to the report, the Avenger series will witness a jump in sales from the current 4,000 units per month to about 20,000 units per month.

The source of this report did not mention any details about the engine options but looking at Bajaj’s current product portfolio, the new Avenger series is likely to:

  • Share its engines with the new Pulsar series – As150 and AS200
  • Retain its 220cc in one of the three variants
  • Receive an ABS equipped premium variant

The new Avenger motorcycle may draw power from the same engines that are found on Bajaj’s Pulsar AS series

The aforementioned points are speculative and we are really not sure what does Bajaj plans to reveal this week. Bajaj may reveal three different variants based on engine displacement or differentiate between the models on the grounds of features that may be offered in the new Avenger series such as rear disc brake, ABS, projector headlight etc.

Although speculative, the new Avenger, if it shares its engines with the AS series, will be powered by a 199.5cc triple spark four-valve liquid cooled and 149.5cc “twin” (not three) spark four valve air cooled motors, both delivering 23.5 PS and 17 PS respectively.

If the report from Moneycontrol is to be believed, the launch is likely to happen in a matter of days now. However, we haven’t received any official confirmation or invites for any such event at the time the report was filed.

  1. Hi Satheesh, we have attributed the news to Moneycontrol. We hope their sources are right, as we have not received any official invitation or notification from Bajaj Auto in this regard yet
