Thousands of Bikers Participate in India Bike Week 2014

The streets woke up to an all new roar as all roads led to India Bike Week which created its magic yet again this Friday. The sound of thousands of riders from around the country along with global legends thumped their mean machines in one hell of a ride at the biggest biking festival in Asia ‘India Bike Week’14’.

The second edition of India’s biggest biking festival  ‘India Bike Week’ which was organized by  70 Event Media Group in collaboration with travel & lifestyle channel FOX Traveller  inaugurated on January 17 , 2014. Day one had a plethora of events, workshops held for all the biking enthusiastic – from music, fun, entertainment to DJs bars and bikes, all was offered under one roof. The one of its kind platforms invited all the bikers and non-bikers to come together and enjoy the sheer emotion and essence of biking

The mesmerizing site at Vagator witnessed live music, great food and never-seen-before machines including the incredible biking beauties such as Vintage Bike Concours, with a new ‘Century Class’ of 100 year old bikes, we’ve got Customs, Racing Bikes, Mod Bikes and many, many more bikes.

Speaking on the occasion, Martin da Costa, CEO of 70 EMG said, “We are staggered with the response that the second edition of the festival has received. We’ve showcased some of the best bikes in the world here today – Vintage bikes, chopper class, super bikes and hundreds of others. It was awesome to be the platform to launch the Harley Davidson Street 750, and Nisttarkya – 1st Indian Electric Concept Bike by Santhosh, X-Spec Motorcycles will showcase their third & final prototype. Its been an amazing day, and we’re looking forward to tomorrow and sharing IBW with the thousands of Bikers who’ve made it here from all over India.

With two-wheeler enthusiasts from all over the world appreciating our efforts to bring the only biking festival closer to them, it was truly an unforgettable experience. The participation from international biking legends, Freecross motorcycle stunters, over and above the professional stunt zones. Bike displays, new bike launches and the famous bike build off; on a larger scale- we have taken the event to an unprecedented scale. 

Day 1 of the event witnessed legendary long-distance motorcyclists Ted Simon, Sam Childers & Nick Sanders ride on the roads of Goa followed by a session to honour the long-distance riders amongst the crowd. Sharing their stories, experiences and importantly biking tips from the legends themselves in what a biker could never afford to miss.

The biggest highlight of the festival this year was the Bike Build Off showcase. It witnessed 7 truly incredible motorcycle customizers shortlisted from all around the country fight for the title with their unbound creativity in competition with last year’s Build off winner Vijay Singh from Rajputana Customs.

The streets were thrilled with parades of some stunning metal beauties marching on the roads of Vagator including the H.O.G Parade and several Club Parades.The event also had amazing and exciting acts such as Bike Burn Outs, Loudest Bike Competition, Better Riding workshops by experts, Biker Movies, Track Riding Skills panel discussion with 2 greats from 2 different generations – Aspi Bhathena and Scott Redding – the youngest GP winner at 15 years, Live Bands & DJs, Strongest Biker Challenge, Biking Skills Challenge etc.  The climax of day one was the Freestyle Muscle Motocross that featured international Motocross jump riders entertaining the crowd with 40’ high backflips and other gravity defying acts.

 With day one having International Legends on board, India Bike Week honoured three of India’s legends –  the great Indian Bikers Aspi Bhathena, Zubin Patel and Jay Kannaiyan.

 Some stunning attractions of the festival included Bikini Bike Bar, Beerambulance, The Howling Dog Bar, IBW skills challenge and Motorcycle Travelers Meet.
