The Mitsubishi eX Concept, set to début at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show, previews an all-electric crossover from the Japanese brand that is expected to hit international showrooms within five years from now. The electric(e) crossover(X) is styled using Mitsubishi’s new found design philosophy, and features the trending Dynamic Shield front fascia, muscular haunches, frame-less, suicide doors, chiselled bodywork, and a floating roof.

The interior design is minimalistic, and is littered with displays and touch sensitive pads. Highlights include a dual tone white and blue interior color with contrasting bright yellow accents, a Head-Up display, along with a large, floating central display keeps occupants entertained with connected car technology and internet services.

The eX features a lightweight construction and a full-electric drive-train, which includes a 70 kW electric motor mounted on each axle. Total output is rated at 280 kW, endowing the all-electric Mitsubishi with a range of 400km on a single charge. Also at Tokyo will be Mitsubishi’s demonstration of its latest autonomous driving technology, with visitors able to sample a driver-less car, and numerous new JDM models including a clean diesel variant of the Pajero SUV.
