Team Williams victory celebrations cut short due to fire in pits

Lady luck played perfect spoilsport to the Team William F1’s victory at Spanish Grand Prix. The incident took place during the victory photoshoot after the race. The fire gave minor injuries to as many as 31 persons and 7 persons had to be shifted to a hospital. The fire didn’t spare Bruno Senna’s $1.6 million F1 car.

Williams F1 Team says that an explosion in the fuel storage area is the reason for that fire. FIA, however, is busy investigating the incident further. It indeed is sad and unfortunate that the team’s first victory in 8 years co incided with this fire accident. The next F1 race is in Monaco in just 3 days and the team might not be able to participate.
