Tata Motors has started taking bookings for its compact sedan Zest online for Rs 21,000. Customers can go on the official website to book their Zest. Buyers can select between the petrol or diesel unit, however, further details of the bookings would only be available at the dealerships once the car is launched.

The Revotron engine installed on this car has already impressed us with its capabilities. The petrol engine on this car is a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron unit that churns out 88 bhp (90 PS) of power and 140Nm of torque. The diesel engine on the other hand is a Fiat sourced 1.3-litre Quadrajet unit which also produces 88 bhp (90 PS) of power but has a healthier torque figure of 200Nm.

The new Tata Zest will compete against other sub-4 meter compact sedans like the Suzuki Swift Dzire, the Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Xcent.
What’s expected next from Tata’s stable is a new hatch, the Bolt. Although no launch date has been announced by the company, we believe it should be up for sale by next month.
