Tata Motors has officially launched its compact sedan, the Zest at an event in Mumbai. The new Zest comes at a price tag of Rs 4.64 lakh for the base petrol variant and Rs 5.64 lakh for the base diesel variant.
Powering the new Tata Zest is a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine that churns 90 PS of power and 140Nm of torque. The diesel engine on the other hand is a 1.3-litre Quadrajet unit which comes in two power variants – 75PS and 90PS of power and 190Nm and 200Nm of torque respectively.
The new Tata Zest will compete against other sub-4 meter compact sedans like the Suzuki Swift Dzire, the Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Xcent.

Last month, Tata Motors had started taking online bookings for the Zest at Rs 21,000.
